  • ASSIGNMENT on ACES

    • Prt III : Using Primary and Secondary Sources to Persuade :: Literary Argument / Criticism – – COMPOSITION – –
      • Choose 1 Text/Primary Source (i.e. poetry, short fiction, novel, or drama) to Analysis and DEFEND your thesis Arguing or Criticising an assertion, concept, theory, or observation Regarding the text, writer in relation to his/her text, commentary made to either writer, text, or both, etc.
        • Text MUST be a work of Fiction or Creative Non-Fiction
        • Text NEED NOT be discussed in class
        • You are free to choose a Writer other than those featured in PART I & II. HOWEVER, You MUST still SUBMIT This Assignment on its Established DUE DATE.
          • NO  EXTENSIONS  WILL BE GIVEN
      • USE the END OF SEMESTER Project to help you decide what fiction work to analysis; the examination you provide in THIS composition can be modified for the semester’s ultimate project
      • Provide DETAILED Observations and Analysis, using the source/text you’re analyzing in addition to 2 secondary sources (i.e. literary, scholarly analytical texts)
        • Scholarly Literary Texts can be peer-reviewed essays published in collections, anthologies, journals, websites, or introductions made by other authors within a given publication
        • Primary and Secondary Sources MUST HAVE authors addressed by their proper name; AVOID Secondary Sources written by “staff”/ghost writes or committees
        • Your Composition is 2 ½ – 3 pages long (+1 with “Works Cited” Page)
      • REMEMBER: You’re free to use a text to analysis that has not been featured in class. HOWEVER, you’re still accountable for reading and finding secondary sources for your analysis and defence of a proposition made by you.
        • Composition = At least 2 ½ pages long. Total Pages with the Works Cited Page = at least 3 pages long
        • Your WORKS CITED PAGE will have 3 sources: 1 Fictional/Creative Non-Fictional Text & 2 Peer-Reviewed Literary, Scholarly Analytical Texts
        • “No Author” Sources = NOT Allowed
